Our origins begin with Brandon Kulow, our original founder starting with no textile training or knowledge of textiles other than skills from construction as an electrician and mechanic with a vision of turning wastestream materials into functional products, and vehicle handles with no textiles skills or training of any kind in the beginning deeply motivated and inspired began producing the first products while reading Let My People Surf by Yvonne Chouinard in the "shop hammock" deeply inspired by Yvonnes and Royal Robbins story decided to take the ideas only in mind so far to begin learning the skills necessary to craft the original products. Starting out with a rental sewing machine from the local library in Ann Arbor, MI and a 2 hour training course from sewists at the library began making the original prototype products iterating on them as he gained skills learning from more and more skilled training obsessing over perfecting the visions of products in mind.
